Neoraimondia herzogiana
"Baseball Bat Cactus"

Native to Bolivia, Neoraimondia herzogiana is another large columnnar cactus. In the wild it is like a branching tree achieving heights of 50 feet. Here's a link to a page with a full sized specimen in the wild CLICK. It reportedly produces large pale pink flowers and edible fruit. It grows quite fast, this one is allready too big for this dish garden and I've had it but one season. When I stuck it in there it was only 6 inches tall. It's now more like 18.
I'll be finding an appropriate spot in the yard to replant this in spring.
